Default n reg jap wrx

where i was working today there was a white n reg wrx(jap).the guy said that there was a few things done to it but only running around 280bhp,when he started it up it sounded really nice, why dosent my 300bhp uk impreza sound anything like it? the exhaust he had fitted didnt look out of the ordinary ,but the sound that came from it was lovely, a proper agressive rumble,is it different because mine is a uk?do all the jap imports sound different to uk? i want my car to sound like it! it sounded awesome!!

well i got to do the 7500 mile service, then got to buy heat wrap and gasket kit for ported headers....then ill fit them, then i got to save for mapping along with a bit of labour for 3 port fitting, and also need funds for afpr and/or the 550s...still not sure what to do there.my mapper can supply the fpr for around £90 but most people advise fuelab etc which are £200,i wont be able to afford fuelab and 550s unless i manage to pick up 2nd hand,so wont be for quite a while yet and the misses wants bllody carpets

defo cant wait, think ill end up going for the 2nd hand 550s and maybe even 2nd hand fuelab, see what happens, but no doubt at some point this year we will have some nice carpets lol and the wagon will be a rocket, then ill defo have to upgrade brakes and a little bit of bodywork to do.
