Discounts - STI Type UK Prodrive

Virgin Cars can supply a silver non Prodrive STI within 7 weeks for £22,995 OTR. This is an EU import,
I would expect atleast £1500 off the listprice of a UK car. The dealer still gets to make a grand and you soften depreciation (slightly).

Orwella,
Unless things have changed you don't get a warranty / sat track / cat 1 alarm etc with an eu import, I looked into this before I bought one and for the extra £ 1500 or so I thought it would be best to buy british well sort of anyway.

I'd love to know where you'd expect to see £1500 off the list price - my dealer was quite sure he wanted the full £27495, even for the demonstrator. (Of course, they would say that - but the trade-in offer for my MY00 with PPP wasn't great either).
Even so, if Virgin can sell the car for £23k, and the security stuff is another £1.5k, that's still a total of £24.5k - a saving of £3k from UK list. I'd be tempted.

I would be interested in this info too, please mail me
Also can anyone reccomend a good dealer within about 1.5 - 2 hours drive of Oxford that will take a grey import as a trade in - I am going to have a test drive tomorrow in the new STI, but my local garage won't deal with grey's - did say they may have a solution but I would still like to ring round....
Cheers

Andy,
Don't forget Orwella was talking about a non Prodrive Sti which are £25995 list.
That's a saving of £1500 not £3000 if you add all security and the extras.
Regards,
Rob.

I was offered an ex-demo from a dealer, with 1800miles on it (Prodrive one) for my car plus £13500.
Mine is a UK MY99 with 48k on the clock, with a few extras which he wanted to keep (wing, brakes - that sort of thing).
Just a pity, I can't find the cash, and not use about an ex demo anyway!

Rob: well spotted
That said, Micronet are listing the non-Prodrive STI for £21,297 and the Prodrive car for £22,597 - still cheaper than Virgin's standard car. Delivery from Europe is extra, but the Prodrive car still works out at about the same price as the standard car from Virgin. Not sure about delivery times.

UK Dealers will now happily knock £1000-1500 off a standard WRX. The same ammount should be possible on the STI - afterall, 10% of £28k is a bigger margin to play with that 10% on £22k.

If people were not so willing to pay full price - dealers wouldn't expect it. I remember my dealer saying P1'a would never be discounteed.

You could try www.Keyring-cars.co.uk. They have a link to this site from theirs.
They are offering a certified European Sti (non-prodrive) with 3 years warranty, for £21,491, although there is a 4-5 months waiting time..
I'm in the process of trying to find one myself, so if you do find any good deals, please let me know.

Keyring cars is a better deal than Litchfields(sorry Ian!!).Even allowing for extra security the car should'nt cost you more than £22500 max. This is with a 3 year pan European warranty.Car comes from Subaru in Malta.
