Default newbie saying hello

Just saying hello to everyone as i have just signed up to the forum. I hope im posting in the right section.
I dont have an impreza at the moment, but i'm trying to correct that.
Up until 18mnths ago, i had a Uk w plate 5dr turbo which i loved. When petrol hit 1.20 a litre, i got rid. Biggest mistake of my life.
Anyway, hello.

Hi there Marx Mcrae - South Sheffield.

I'm wanting another scooby and dont know whether go for a version 6 import sti, or a UK300. The maximum im prepaired to pay is 7k, but the most important thing to me is reliability. Have you or anyone else got any thoughts?
Cheers, D

Both cars will be reliable so long as they are kept standard or are modified properly. I personally would go for the sti 6, but the uk300 would be slot more comfortable

Do you live anywhere near Worksop?

Not far from there - killamarsh.

My heart says the sti, but my head says the newer uk300. The last one i had - i spent 3k at scooby clinic on it. And the missus will go spare if i go down that route again on upgrades/servicing, so i really ought to be looking at the newer one.
Thanks for the hello's everyone, it's very welcoming here.

Ps - what safe good mods can be done to uk300 - i'll say it here and now whilst the missus is out at work!!
