I am considering buying a new Impreza, and was wondering which one is the best value for money.

Not interested in performance as i got a MK II escort for that, just outright value.

Considering an old shape or new shape?

There was a thread on here which concluded that the MY99 was the best of the classic bunch. Couple this with the looks of the new shape, I'd say the MY99 is the best one ever made!!!!

PS - I am a bit biased though as I own a MY99!

if you hang on for a few months you might be able to get an STi from Belgium for round £20k, NOW THAT'S GOT TO BE VALUE

Well if you found a way to get 400bhp out a MKII escort then I recon you should sell that buy an STI, tune her and see if you can break all the records!!!

Well I never would have thought!!!!

Go for a nice and tidy MY99 or a MY00, that way you won't lose as much money in a few months / years when you sell. Daft buying a new car

MY00 bought in Jan 2001 for £22,500 is now worth £15k if I'm lucky with 32k on the clock. Loads of grin factor though.
