It's probably only a matter of time until your back shocks fail anyway so I would go for the coilovers

coilovers are far too stiff for road use, ive had them on a few cars over the years.

^^ Correct. Coilovers aren't inherently stiff.. all WRC rally cars have coilovers. It all depends on which spring rate you get.

Springs for looks, Coilovers + full geo setup for handling.

I fitted a set of AST coilovers last year and have never looked back, NOT harsh or bumpy at all....in fact ive had plenty of mates out in the car and i had to tell them they were coilovers....they are just so comfortable, and handle like a dream too!!

Had a set of H+R 50mm springs before and they were wuite good too though for a set of springs

I have just fitted a set of Prodrive springs to my Hawkeye STi PPP. Had full geo done aswell, and it doesnt feel much harsher in the ride, but sits abit lower & is much better in the corners.

I had a set off JIC coilovers (i hope some one can enlighten me as to wether they are any good?) on a classic.

It handled like it was on rails but to be honust was really really uncomfortable felt every last dip in the road.

If a budget isnt a problem and you use car only for weekend fun (im gelouse lol) Coil overs all the way mate.

Thanks for your advice guys.

I've ordered some BC coilovers,Whiteline Anti lift kit, rear arb & rear drop links & once all this is fitted i'll be having the geo done to the fast road setting.
