Falken tyres
Anyone used the Falken Ziex ZE-912 of the Falken FK-452 tyres? if so how do they grip in the wet? is it worth paying a bit more for 225's over 215's? or dont they make much difference?

I have the normal FK452 225/ 40 18 and I think that they are very good in the wet but my dad has vredsteins and I think those are better.
Not tried these new falkens....the reviews look good though!
Have a look on american sites, they do reviews on subarus and evos.

Agreed the Falkens seem to be quite a hard compound and wear very well. Am running 452`s on my newage and superb in the wet. Dry performance is reasonable to be honest but nothing special.

If your driving style is not too hard and you drive spiritedly but not overboard within the limits we are all bound by on the public roads these days, then I would definatly recommend the Falken 452's.
I recently went through this whole debate about which tyres to fit to my P1 with the 18" P-WRC wheels and although I would normally have gone for a top branded name (Pirelli/Goodyear etc), my budget dictated I would have to give the 452's a try.
They hold very well in the wet and dry and are not too harsh on the ride. The size I went for is 225/35/18.
Camskill are usually best for price allthough I paid £380 for a set of 4 fully fitted and balanced which was not far off from the camskill price + fitting and i kept my local tyre guy happy buy buying from him!
The saving in cost over other brands will definatly make you smile!
As I said, this depends on your personal driving style, If your a nutter with a lead foot and want's sideway's action all the time then these tyres are not for you....
Good Luck.

When I changed from 17" to 18" wheels I had Falken FK452 225/40/18Y tyres fitted to my new rims, I found that the 452's gripped a lot better than the Bridgestone's that I had fitted to my 17" rims.
I had mine fitted for £276 inc vat as my brother's mate has his own tyre/garage business so I more or less had them for cost.
I have got another 2 members on the Wales section a similar deal and we have all found the 452's to grip well in both dry and wet conditions and IMHO they outperform some of the more expensive tyres.
