are all td04's the same?

i have a 99 impreza and the turbo just died.

will a td04 from an earlier or newer model fit and work?


quick answer required if possible

i think bugeyes or blobeye they changed the td04 but classics are same. straght swap

I think there are differences between classic turbos which would prevent you fitting say a MY95 td04 to a MY99 car...think its the housing AFAIK.

I have just changed the td04 on my own 99 UK classic due to a blown turbo seal, but had no difficulty at all in finding a replacement on here. My replacement was from a MY99 so I knew that would fit.

Perhaps a quick post in the wanted section would get you the turbo you need...that's how I got mine sorted.
