Question

Folks

You've probably read this question a million times but I'll ask you again - Is Wax Wizard any good? I've been using AutoGlym for a while but I'm not impressed with it so I'm looking for something else. And I've seen a Wax Wizard Starter pack in the Scoobyshop (TOP!) and am thinking about it. Any body tried it? Please help!

Its probably the best wax........in the world ! Go for the merlin starter pack - very easy to applicate with no white residue. There are 'superior' waxes available from WW, but they tend to be hard work applying and VERY expensive. I thoroughly recommend it.

Wax Wizards products are superb!
I've been using them for well over a year very easy to apply with excellent results.
Why not give Mark Underwood a bell and he can advise you.
Check out his ad banner on the board.

Gordon,

The Merlin starter pack is a 'good all rounder' - I think the Subaru starter pack has a different, harder wax, which is more tailor made for japanese paint. Hence the latter is more expensive (!)....Speak to the chap at WW - he's extremely helpful..

HE is useless, I had to polish my car myself!

Although for a fee he will do it for you I believe.

The products are excellent, I got the Subaru wax starter kit and the wax should last about 5 years at this rate!!

Just been out this afternoon with the Wax Wizard Subaru kit. Washing , cleansing and waxing. The car looks amazing and I'm getting looks everywhere I go. The best bodywork modification available!! I can't say the car looks as good as new because it was only delivered from the dealer last weekend and it actually looks about three times better than new.

PS the Subaru wax is easy enough to apply just a bit of hard work needed to buff it up if you put too much on. The car also smells amazing, as does the garage or anywhere I park it. I am having to resist the temptation to lick the body pannels.

I've got a black WRX which always looked dirty and smeared so I e-mailed Mark and I got the Merlin starter kit. I tried a bit on the front wing and just couldn't stop, it was amazing. Took me about 2 hours to do the lot but she looked superb afterwards, you could really see the red metallic flake in the paintwork (I didn't even realise it was metallic until then, d'oh)

Buy it now, you won't regret it!

I got a Zymol pack from the Motorshow, has anybody used both. The Zymol stuff looks expensive compared to WW. 500ml of the Zymol car wash is £30 . Makes my DBM look wonderfull though

WW - The best car care products and the best customer service I have ever seen. Shame all companies don't look after their customers so well.

Mark Underwood (aka WW) is always there to help you keep your car looking good.

Wax Wizard - AMAZING

My car has a deeper, richer, more glossy shine than it did when she was new,6months ago. I just can't believe the difference.

The best thing is that it removes all of those pescy swirl marks that magically appear when the sun shines on the bodywork. Autoglymblahh puts the swirls marks into the paint, its crap and takes forever to use.

WHEELS - wax'em
My PD7's are waxed too, and after a 120miles at Donington yesterday and literally smoking DS2000 pads etc, the brake dust just wiped off. Absolutely NO trace left.

Also get the Clay Bar and Erazer lubricant. you've never felt such smooth panels, plus it removes tar and old brake dust deposits from the wheels. Be careful with the Clay bar though, otherwise you will scratch your paint.

Have fun

Mark

More of the same.. I used autoglym religiously and was very impressed with the results, but WoW is a step further

30 mins to wax whole car (autoglym 1hr+), looks superb (deeper shine than Autoglym), lasts weeks (stays shiner/repels water longer than Autoglym), leaves no residue or white streaks (Autoglym leaves car like its been snowing - needs polishing two or three times), gives paintwork almost Teflon qualities - swatted flys just rinse off.

And above all the WoW himself (Mark Underwood) is an absolute 'diamond geezer' and goes well beyond the call of duty in helping and advising

Cheers Guys!

Another question though.

What's the difference between waxing and polishing? Do you wax then polish? Or polish then wax?

This question has been bugging me since I passed my driving test (about 10 years ago!).

Wax after Polish

IIRC - Laymans description..

Polish is a polishing agent, it makes the car's paint shinier by removing smalls imperfections/scrathces/dirt etc and takes 'all the crap off' to get it back to the paint/lacquer. Hence polish had residue that needs 'polishing' off. EG WW Cleanse, Mer etc

Wax is a coating that covers the paint (after polishing) thus protecting it. Because you leave wax on the car to protect, the 'polishing' it is merely making the wax shiny rather than removing residue hence easier, and no white residue

Question

Mark,

At risk of sounding a bit stupid, do the starter kits come with instructions?

I tried the Erazer Acylic Sealant a couple of months ago - I haven't waxed the car since (sorry Mark ) but the water is still beading off brilliantly, and its as easy to apply as Merlin wax.

See the WoW article on winter care for more info.
