Default Another Area 52 engine failure

Our engine blew on sunday, all the engine work was done by area 52 and no other, It was built just over 12 months ago and done about 5/6ks
It was mapped by a reputable mapper on Friday an got 456bhp/450lbft, not by area 52 by the way.

There so called stage 3 engine was used with a fp green hta, and simtek ecu, a lot of the other "bolt on" mods were fitted elsewhere.

There are other issues that have gone on during the last 12 months which
I feel I need to take time and address in a proper manner.

I was'nt going to bother in posting this, as the engine was built over 12 months ago but after the "type r brad" thread and certain abuse that has been thrown at him I feel I should at least make people aware of another area 52 failure.

And for the record it blew up at a "charity track day for sick kids" which involves taking ill kids around a track, and 1 pre lap and 1/2 a lap later it let go so not exactly ragging it !

You are inferring that your problems are regards to Area 52. I take it you have proof and you also have a good barrister! I also hope that IB have a good one as well.

yea thats right typical old scabbynet, mention blown engine and tuners then lawyers and barristers are the next words to follow

Anyway i fail to see why this affects A52, the car ran for a full year with no probs then blew up two days after the map was changed by somebody else

RA Dunk,
Says the man with the big bollocks that will obviously put HIS hand in his pocket and underwrite the very company that gives his big bollocks the ability to post here!

You host a site and you let someone post things like this..... see how long it takes for the legal system to rinse you of everything you own, including that miniscule thing called a brain!

Being a dumb **** does not let you off in a court of law!

Bolts on bits such as aps fmic and exhaust and a few bits here an there were fitted over the last 3 to 4 years not after the engine was done, so dont really see how this affects things.

It says they were fitted else where

If they fitted a new stage 3 engine then they fitted them to said engine right

Running those figures increases the risk of your engine letting go. If it were a bad build you'd have found out before 6k imo.

Hi Guys,

I was at the charity event on Sunday too and can vouch for the fact that Imposter wasn't going hell for level when the engine went bang. Really gutted for you mate especially as you travelled a fair way to be there for the weekend as I myself did in aid of charity. I think you are doing the right letting people know what happened and if anyone thinks this is a wind up, sadly it is not. There are a lot of people that witnessed the unfortunate event.

Cheers

Its not my engine its not my company eitherway me personally i couldent give a flying f**k TBVFH, but people have a right to know where there money is best spent and where best to avoid, but you dont see it like that always too fast to crawl up some tuners ar$e

so pretty please with a cherry on top, go **** your self

this area52 seems to be getting some right stick over the past week, which ever way it turns out it not good for them as people will be put off,do think that there needs to be some proof of whos at fault before coming on here, just my 2 pence worth, and this is from a mechanics view that has built loads of engines over the years,

There are people running more power than that on stock engines, I would have thought a forged stage 3 engine would be able to handle it.

I really cant understand how you can ask someone to build you a 450bhp engine which was never designed to run that kind of power and then expect the guy to garentee it for trackdays or even garentee it full stop, if a component that the company supplied failed due to a manufacturing fault then maybe,

(waits the enslaught)

RA Dunk,
Being one of the sheep and saying the same thing as all the other people that don't quite "get it", means you get that kind of response. This is a public forum.... so expect it. If you can't take it, don't type it!

If it does not bother you that much and you really don't give a FF, then why post in the first instance. It obviously bothered you that much to take the time to post in the first place!

As far as me being up Mike Tuckwoods ****.... you have got to be kidding haven't you!

Just read the first post ....

Re-Map done, then engine blew up ..... I suspect that your claim is with the mapper, hope you got a decent warranty with the re-map you selected?

Maybe its just you that dosent get it, you dont even run this place anymore WTF buisness is it of yours? its not you who might but probably definatly wont be taken to court is it, you have nothing more to do with this place so please leave the politics to those who do.

your right it dosent bother me in even the tiniest way what happens between these two, what bothers me is the way people get treated on here when a tuner gets mentioned, its ok for them to blow up engine after engine (this isnt aimed at A52 by any means) but nobody is allowed to speak up

I run 450/520 on a well build engine & it comes with much more mechanical danger than any standard set up. If mine when pop on a track day after 12 months use I wouldn't think to mention it in connection with another thread.

Tuning brings risks, fact! If you take the risk you must live with the consequences
