Welcome
Reliable, well if everything is done properly then yes reasonable on parts, errrrrm well not really, its a high performance japanese car some parts are reasonable, some are just down right expensive and yes they all have 3 seats in the back
Now have you had any insurance quotes? you need to see what the difference between a wrx and an sti is, if one has a ppp fitted (prodrive performance pack, increase in power) as this can affect the cost of your insurance.
For the money though, you will fall into a nice bracket, probably get a MY05 WRX for that money or an MY03 STI (with change).

You need to drive both, otherwise you will be acting on opinions people base on whichever car they own.

Irrelevant ! It's how you drive them that counts, two very different cars IMHO.

Drive both and decide for yourself.... some hate the six speed box, others see the improved cosmetics as important.

Many WRX's end up with a load of STI goodies added.
