Default Hi and a couple of questions

Afternoon, new to the forum, looking for some advise .

Ok I'm lookingto buy a Scooby (with a mate half shares) for playing around on trackdays so first question:

The car we are looking at is:
a 95 WRX jap import
RHF5 turbo
4400 cc injectors
APexi ECU including Commander
big zorst
induction kit
std most other places, except
front brakes upgraded to later 4 pots
f/glass bonnet with fmic style vents

runs 300bhp at 1.2bar boost
brakes are almost new all round
interior is fine

does the above sound OK and is around £1500 a fair price?

second question

neither of us want to use the car as a daily driver so are looking for the best insurance that covers the car against theft and allows us to drive to and from trackdays, so looking probably looking for TPFT, who's the best insurer for these cars under these circumstances.

Cheers

Iain

i paid 2300 for a93 import, standard apart from exhaust and induction kit, mine also requires a full respray, take it for a proper test drive and try andfind someone who can check it over properly, to me 1500 seems cheap it would make me wonder if theres something wrong with it,

The reason for the price is it's mate who owns it and he has now left the country permanently so needs to offload the car as it's currently parked at his Mum's house.

I know the guy and he wouldn't shaft us, will check it out anyway, just had absolutely no idea of it's value so thanks for the info.

Any ideas for insurance, have spoken to Adrian Flux (and given all the details of the mods) and they have quoted £625 TPFT for my mate as the main driver and me named, just a bit dear for what will be in effect 10 -12 days road use each year.

OK so went up to NE thoday to collect the car, here it is

so drove it back 150 miles, surprisingly comfortable, obviously stiffly sprung but not too bad, engine and transmission nice and smooth, not as loud as I thought it might be. Brake are good but do need a firm push. There is a bit of surface rust on the wheel arches but apart from that it's not bad for a 14 year old car. MOT til next March, thing is the speedo still reads in KPH ?? it has a Raod Angle fitted that shows MPH readout is this actually allowed?

So it appears to be £1500 fairly well spent and we should get a fair bit of fun out of it. Now to book some trackdays
