Thumbs down Finally got around to fitting my Prosport gauges...

BUT having a couple of probs

Basically i followed this guide...

https://www.scoobynet.com/interior-1...ure-boost.html

All was going well until i connected up the wires etc.Basically did what the guide said and put the White wire to the feed for the Cig lighter so that wire was only live when the ign was on....Earth to the black from the lighter..and the Red to the Red/Blue perm. live for the radio via the guide on the link.

When i turned the gauges on the oil temp and oil press were flashing like mad after the start up sequence! And the were all beeping very loud

Followed the info off here and managed to get the beeping to stop BUT the Oil gauges are still flashing..now i havn't connected the sensors up yet as i'm buying the adaptors from Scoobyparts next week..would this be why there blinking?? I rekon it's somthing to do with the perm. live?

AND after putting all my dash back together etc etc etc they don't even turn on now managed to get my meter on the Perm. live and that still has the 12v but the feed for the cig lighter isn't showing anything now! Assuming the fuse has gone? Can't seem to find which fuse this is (my99 uk) anyone know?

Arrrrrgggggggghhhhhhh

Yeah theyre alerting you to the fact you have no oil press/temp! mine are also wired in but sensors arnt plumbed in yet...and they also drive me ****ing crazy! sounds like theyve become disconnected when you put the dash back together.

I was hoping you'd reply Wrighty i know you have the same set

Mate it's easy to turn the beeps off! Just hold the button on one gauge..turn the ignition on and as soon as the gauge face goes black release the button.Do this for each gauge and no more beeps

Look like i've gotta put up with the flashing then till i get the sensors hey?

yey my guide got used

Yeah they flash to warn there is no oil pressure.

The oil temp will be black or flash if there is no sensor connected. I had an issue where the bullit connectors were separating with the movement of the engine and the gauge kept going out/flashing/changing colour n stuff.

Just get it all fitted in, as i said, mines plumbed in and wrote the way i did it and they are still going strong

If you need any advice feel free to PM me. There were plent of points in the fitting there were a bit of a ******* and tested my incredibly short fuse but once done its easy

GL with the rest of the fit.

Hey mate!

Great guide and thanks very much for taking the effort..i was going to PM you but didn't know how often you came on here I'll have the adaptors soon so i'll just have to put up with the flashing for a week or too hey!

Wrighty are you sure you wired them right? I don't get beeps just flashes? Sounds like you don't have the perm live?

I'm sure you don't need red and white wires connecting up, that's just for choice of colour when illuminated although you can have both if that's what you want but i think this has to be connected up via your headlight switching so that at night they change from red / white to red / white (depending on which way you prefer)

I have all the wiring in for mine (oil temp, oil pressure & volt gauge) but the senders aren't connected up and gauges not physically in yet) I have the boost gauge hooked up in a seperate a pillar pod and that works spot on, i have it lit up white all the time.

Had mine fitted for a while now and if the oil temp sensor isn't connected it will flash to warn you. Fitted new sensor yesterday after a slight mishap with the first one and all working fine yet again. Mine are wired off the clock pod connector and are white light no matter if headlights on or off.

Yes that's the bits you need. Was getting them confused with bits that actually screw into them. I used those and so did my mate with the same gauges. Tim @ Scoobyparts will see you right. Well worth installing them.
For reference my oil pressure is about 100-110 at start from cold, boost max 16PSI and oil temp was 80-90 over the weekend in the heat with normal running, fresh oil was put in on Friday if that makes any difference?

That's a good reference for me mate cheers

I've got an MY00 Uk though so not sure if the exact figures will be the same?

I was only getting 13 PSI max on my old gauge..we TD04..miss the 17 PSI from my last 320 brake WRX

My oil pressure has peaked 120 according to the gauge, normal driving over the weekend it sits at 85-90 at motorway speeds when hot. My car is standard 2003 WRX and I use Motul 300V 5-40 oil if it makes any difference to the readings.

Also i was worried when my temp sensor didnt work. Turned out it takes ages to get the engine oil up to temp. about 3 times longer than the water anyway.
