Default 02 WRX STI KNOCKIN NOISE

Hi all,

I have a 02 wrx sti, which over the past few weeks has developed a knockin noise from the drives side wheel area.

a few months ago i changed the drop links, so i think they r still ok ,, the noise sounds as if its a drop link noise, more audible when car is turning right & slowly.

thanks

shaun...

more likely to be the rear Struts, common fault. Normally improves after jacking up and or ( Dealer Oiling the strut) but comes back month after.

Does it feel like one back wheel is like a trupenny bit when slow turning? Tehn 95% sure Struts.

have a look in suspension forums a BIG thread on it

IIRC IMHO

i bet its a wheel bearing, depending on how long its been knocking you might need a new hub as well.

It could be a simple CV joint. That would make a knocky clicky sound when you turn the wheel. If it is a new CV boot will do the trick
