Default Anyone fitted Prodrive Performance kit to MY08 WRX?

My WRX had its first service last week and while in showroom asked about WRXs salesman told me they have one on order but that there was now a prodrive performance kit available for £1500 which I assume gives similar figures to WRXs. Just would like to know if would be worth it?

Another hatch

If you want to keep your warranty its the only way to go.

But for that money you could get a custom remap (ECUTEK) and a decat exhaust, giving more power and you'd have some change

I would be keen to find out about this as well. What kind of power would I get with Prodrive / remap etc?

I didn't know there was a WRX PPP kit available for the MY08 yet, just the STI PPP.

I'll do some digging, but I'd expect 280-300odd if past WRX PPP's are anything to go on.

He's not talking about the WRXS is he?

with +35bhp and 70 N torque?

Edited to say:

Just re-read your 1st post .

The WRXs has the PPP kit thus that is the performance gains available

ie 255bhp and 390 N torque

yeah. unfortunatley I am low-rent-man and interested in the WRX only. My current car Megane Cup was modded to 260-ish hp and interested in what can be done mucho cheapo for the WRX.

I am pretty staggered by the lack of info on this model on this forum...I think I have seen pictures about what people think about the model....

Every new model has received the same response from SN mate.

nothing will ever be "as good" as the (now very dated) classic shapes for most on here.

The hatch has been the biggest market direction change by IM with the Impreza badge, and the WRX (newage onwards) has always been the little brother to the STI on here too... so what u have is 2 large reasons why the Hatch WRX gets little or no mentions.

With the STI getting alot of flack!

Subaru's are an expensive car to mod, with a minimum of £1500-£1600 for a warranty friendly upgrade, with some non-warranty friendly mods coming in cheaper.

The "bolt on" ecu chips widely used in other marques are a no no with Subaru it appears

What about if you weren't too bothered about the warranty :-)

Are there any reputable remap specialists that have been used with good effect on the older 227hp wrx...I realise that there have been some changes in the power curve etc but are they a million miles apart?

Thanks

Mappers will be asking for £500-600 to remap your standard ecu, but many will recomend increasing the engine's breathing and exhaust capabilities first.

Those will cost circa £900-£1k

So you're back to £1.6k again

The main advantage of re-mapping a subaru is the increased torque at lower revs figure.. (this makes the car much quicker), don't get romanced with the peak bhp number ...get a good road map is my advice.
