Default School boy Error

I topped up my oil this weekend and i overfilled it on the dipstick it reads up to the notch on the classic my98 Dipstick this is a bit past the full level if that makes sense really annoyed as im really careful and normally stay on the cautious side as i seem to remember hearing too much oil is worse for an engine that it being on minimum amount is that right ?

should i get it serviced now only a month early and get it all sorted b4 i drive it again ?

any help much appreciated

Is that cold or warm to the top notch ?

if its warm you should be ok, if not you might get oil into the turbo hoses and intercooler on full boost

otherwise cold oil should be between the two notches and as above the top notch when hot

just drain a bit of the oil out and you should be ok, bit anoying if you have a month to go for a service

Thats nothing. I did my first oil change (alone) on my Pug 205 a few weeks back. Everything went well until I realised I was popping the new Motul oil down the filler cap with the sump plug in my hand

I felt a ******** and had to hose my mates drive down
