Default PPP or other upgrade

HI all

I have another thread going about me getting another Scooby today...so happy!! and i changed the thread a bit and asked what upgrade to have on it so thought i would ask in a separate thread. Its an 06 Hawkeye with no mods what so ever so basically i have a blank canvas as it were. Now very kindly i was told by another member that the way to go is Mocom racing and an upgrade from them for just over a grand ....ish but was thinking about warranty and the like ..i am not sure if it still is under warranty?? if it is should i go PPP if not should i go Mocom or a similar vein. I dont want to go mad mad mad but would like at least 320bhp, and reasonable petrol usage...i know you cant have both....but i am sure there is a happy medium?? i hope

Your thoughts chaps.

Default ppp

alright mate just a quick one on this, i take it you will be gettin an sti for the bhp you want? have a look in northern england meets- rr session prosport. the figures for the day are listed. i have an 06 sti ppp and was well chuffed, 329 bhp 375 torque, just ppp nothing more, so slightly above prodrives est. the point u make about warranty, if u r getting car from dealer get them to ext. the wrrnty by 1 yr. i did. as for the ppp about £2000 worth i also negotiated that from dealer, i paid £700 on top of asking price for car and a full tank of juice. its a buyers market mate so take your time. yes u can get more bhp and torque, but its gonna cost, and will it really be practical day to day, not to mention the increase in insurance (about 25-30% for ppp). just look at the results as i said and then look at their mods in their profiles, personally i think ppp is best, but then i would say that wouldnt i

Hi mate I have a 2006 STI as well my warranty runs out next mouth, you must remember with a PPP all you are getting is a generic map a Prodrive back box and a partial decat (one piece of stainless pipe worth £100) all this for £1700
I have considered this for a long while this is what I am going to do !!
Full de cat but with two pieces so the under body cat can be changed at MOT time and a remap by Jolly green Monster. All for about £900. Should be looking at about 210 bhp-240bhp Oh and a decent panel filter. I also got a prodrive back box from Ebay only £100.!

310-340bhp is not bad at all, i could deal with that..I had about that on my last one one so will be looking for about the same amount. I have about a grand to chuck at it but really want it to last and not F the engine up . I like the PPP as i had that last time and the car was spot on, quick as you like, plus it adds to the value, a PPP car is still a grand more at the moment and the dealers cant get enough of them...i am told??

I can see where you coming from, it depends on how long you are thinking of keeping the car? Personally I would be happier with a tailored remap that suits the car perfectly for the next 3 or4 years rather then worry about the re sale.

Now that has made me think...as you rightly say "tailored" to the car. Now i am really not sure. I would like 330bhp, can i get that AND keep under the warranty??

your not a million miles from zen, which are based in wellingborough, they do the work on my01 wrx not had any problems so far, mines got the ppp which takes it up to 260bhp but what you'd pay for that (£1700ish) im sure zen could do more for that sort of cash
