How good is the META SAT Tracker?
From what I am led to believe, when i get the car which is second hand, the dealer informs METASAT of the change of ownership, then i contact them via email for my account details? Is this roughly what happens? Sorry for soundin dumb guys...

When i got mine,the dealer informed Metasat who then faxed back through to the dealer confirming all was well.I later received a text to confirm this (IIRC).

That will probably be the same as mine then.The only difference was i was the first owner but shouldn't make any difference.
Try contacting your dealer to see what to do,alternatively email Sam Packwood........

Although my MY08 STi was registered on 1st March. My MetaSAT communication units run out tomorrow (8th Feb). There is a premium charge if you let the service slip beyond that top-up date, so be careful. Units cost 100 Euros. Also got hit with the £400 Road Tax today. Just as well I love the car. Bring on the service!

Metasat very poor
Hi Guys,
My 08 STI has the Metasat tracker on the car I've owned since new. The device needs "topped up" each year for 100 Euros. Cause I never use the units, the last year I've been testing the car each week "SAT.STATUS" commands.
I've realised over this time that the service is VERY intermittant, in fact, the last 5 weeks, it has stopped responding to commands completely.
After emails to Subaru Tech and then to Metasat, it seems they have ongoing issues texting replys to your nominated mobile.
In fareness, they can still track the vehicle, however, and alarm text will fail.
Please be aware....
