Noble's quoted approx 130 for the 15K service and 90 for the body service.

All prices include VAT.

Glad I'm not being serviced by your mob ...

Ron,

I just had that one done at Chapplegate for the same price as you mentioned, didn't really trust anyone else to do it as they do the plug in diagnostics etc.. I thought they changed the plugs for that as well but no. Going back this month for rear pads but im going to double check the prices they gave me. I have been going to Nicson Motorsport for bits and pieces (Magnex, quick shift etc) and they are very good and have scooby experience.

I suppose they charge what the market will pay????

I couldn't possibly comment on Chapplegate but it's cheaper elsewhere!!

Mill Lane Engineering in Basingstoke seem good to me (a nice run out too!!!)

Had mine done (15k) yesterday - £168; that seems pretty dear to me for a glorified oil change.

They've not changed the air filter - should they have done?

Unhappy

Hi all
I have now had three prices for the service and body service,
dearest; £233 15k
£140 body

mid £200 15k
£100 body

Cheapest £180 15k
£100 body.

Guess where its gonna go
Oh and by the way they're still a main dealer, and they'lll still stamp the book, after-all thats what we're after isn't.
I just can't help thinkin that the coutesy car is what costs the extra £50, but hey, I can sit on my **** for an hour or three to save £100 total.
Cheers

Did you contact Mill Lane Ron???

Just wondering because mine is due soon

Shouldn't we have a list of the prices garages charge for the services on here???

There should not be any objection to that??

It would help us all make the right choice AND bring the cost down hopefully???

It is bizzare the proce differential between dealers

For example

160 quid for 37.5k service at local dealer x
103 quid for 37.5 service at Mill Lane Basingstoke Subaru dealer

I'm off this afternoon to Mill Lane and have also booked test drive in new WRX while they do the service !

You'd think with all the tech-heads on this BBS, someone would create a database of who charges what and where.

I've just done some price research for my 15K service & anti corrosion service. Results as follows;

Garage 15K inc. A/C + VAT
A £240.00 £61.69
B 214.85 140.00
C 175.00 50.00
D 149.00 79.00
E 131.21 125.00

All of these are in fairly easy striking distance. I have decided to opt for 'C'as they have offered to meet me half way to exchange my car for a courtesy car while they do the work.

Not bad eh!!

Hi All
The strange thing is that the dearest price that I quoted for the sevice was at £47 per hr, and the cheapest was at £49.50.
How does that work then?

Ron,

My local dealer 15k was £130+vat at £45/hour labour. Less £21 because I brought my own oil (Which cost twice that!)

Scotty.

PS: Therefore came to £126 + my oil at £43. (Mobil1 Motorsport 15,50)

Question

What I don't understand is: how the hell can the prices very so much when its quoted as being a 2.3hr job where-ever you take it?
It can't 'just' be the labour rate different can it?
Ron
