Default How much of a difference will I notice???

Just booked my car in to have a de-cat up-pipe and prodrive downpipe fitted along with a remap. It currently has a green cotton panel filter and after-burner vortex de-cat (standard dowpipe back) exhaust. How noticable will the difference be???

Cheers
Andy.

BTW its an 03WRX.

Hey mate,

With the right mapper you notice lots bud. It will feel like a new car altogether.

I'd say around 275-280 bhp / 270-275 lbft @ approx 1.25bar.

Enjoy it mate.

Just a remap can release 30+ bhp and it should pick up smoothly through the rev range, you will be well chuffed I think.

You will notice it! We fitted a decat downpipe/centre, didnt bother with the up-pipe or remap and noticed a slight difference.

Is that a Prodrive Sports cat from the STI PPP?
If so, is this a direct fit as I thought some modification had to be done to the sports cat to make it fit the WRX.

Pretty sure it fits fine, I've got one on my 2002 WRX.

I did sports cat, panel filter and remap, and it's made a big difference - I was worried I wouldn't notice it but thankfully I was wrong!

Its the boost difference you'll notice. standard boost to 1.25 is like night and day. This is where the remap comes into play.
Yes, decatting etc will release some power, but wont change the boost.

It won't fit directly to the TD04, you have to cut a bit off the end of the splitter.

Hi mate,
Yeah I'm finally getting it done (dropped it off today)! I thought about selling the bits but got turned down for a 2nd mortgage (split up with the missus) so thought "Ahhh **** it!" and rang Andrew C after your advice. I knew it was the right move after 30 seconds of speaking to him.

Bob after speaking to Andrew it would appear that you have to remove 3mm from the splitter. I'm also having an EGT boss welded into the downpipe so I dont have to worry about messing around with resistors coming adrift.

Andy.
