Who's the oldest on the BBS?
#1
Not as in since you were born but how long you've been registered on the BBS.
I'd bet Pete Croney, Anders and David Brown are among the 'oldest' but I'll start with 2 years and 2 months (DEC 98)
Also I'll have a side bet on how long before this hits muppetdom

Where am I?????
Interesting thread.
And don't make me older than I really am !!!
The correct geneological count is eighty-one NOT higher.
I have only posted on the ScoobyNet for a short time and that is why my post count is so low.
Will attempt to achieve a proper ratio in physical age/post count category in the near future.
Did I "Fly" off the handle on that one?

Yeah, but I've been on the net longer than any of yer, so that means *my* ***** is the biggest. I remember when this were all gopher and telnet, not of this fancy WWW nonesense. And MIME attachements? What's that all about? What was wrong with manually uuencoding a file and pasting it into your text only email program eh? 56k modems? ADSL? Accoustic couplers running at 300 baud mate, that was for real men.

I remember when our whole school had a 20MB winchester drive (about the size of a filing cabinet).. There was just no way, we'd EVER fill that. (The fact that our new wizzy Research Machines had a whopping 54K of memory had something to do with that - having upgraded from 1K ZX81's)
I knew a place that had mercury tanks, that used the ripples of it's surface as memory.
GUIs ? Pah !
It's almost unbelieveable that you can now get a 128MB card for a Sony camera measuring 8cm by 2cm, and 2mm thick.

me takes a bow I thank you, I thank you.
I believe the webmaster can find out which is your signup number, I was the 63rd member to join.
I must also have one of the lowest posts/month count for a still-active member.
I remember when this BBS was still part of the SIDC site.. ahh.. those were the days..
See this.. ? I remember when all this were fields.. I'll be collecting my pension soon !
I still have the old magic though.. I started the 7+ page Oulton thread

I think I'm easily going to walk away with longest serving/least posting award.
I'm been on since the earliest Steve Breen email list days and can honestly say I haven't been of any use to anyone in all this time.
