New Concept - Puff's Pics Online Ordering
#1
As some of you may know, I take quite a few pics at Track Days & post/sell 'em. Previous experience has shown that people wanting pics from me might have to wait before receiving proofs/pics, basically 'cos I leave home @ 06.30 in the morning, return @ 19.30 & have a small child!
One of our clients came up with this idea & I found out about it. I decided that I would stick up a test film (costs me to do it) to guage reaction & response.
Is this of interest to track day people? & others?
All pictures are available for order on-line, using secure credit card payment. The company, will process the order, develop it & post the picture out to you - that is included in the cost. Only bummer for me is that I have had to increase the price a bit, as its not the person who used to do it & they have to charge VAT (included in cost).
I would welcome any comments that people might have - good or bad. If reaction is good, I will try & get up to Donno & run 7/8 rolls through & go from there (expensive ). Only looking to cover costs, so should be good VFM.
Let me know peeps.

I'm sure both Josh and Puff ( Jason ? ) will agree that there is room for both services.
Josh is a professional photographer and does the majority of the work himself. The service he offers differs to the one Puff is offering in as much as Josh can do Floppies / CDs / Prints of various sizes from both Digital Images and Negatives.
Puff is a good amature ( as far as I know )photographer and is using an on line service to make some cash from his hobby / interest.
Differing approaches but if they both satisfy their punters requests then nobody loses.

Jason,
Be careful, have you spoken to Josh about this? As far as i am aware he has been asked to be the official photographer for SIDC events. I would seek his approval or Stefs? before you offer an alternative charged photo service.
This is not meant in anyway to start an argument just thought it may save some friction at a later date that is all.

I have already discussed this with Puff and the problem isn't necessarily that they are both selling picci's, but that certain circuits (Oulton for one) actually charge a fairly hefty sum to allow us to take any photgrapher who then intends to re-sell pics to the public.
I presume this is a one-off charge regardless of how many people we use, but as long as we know beforehand it shouldn't be a problem. The club will normally pay this charge anyway as we then have full rights to all the picci's, including Puff's now!

Photo's like this you mean.....

Slightly disagree as to rights to my pics Stef! However, I am always happy for the SIDC to use images I have taken & I would not levy a charge for this. I think you'll find I was not the official club photographer @ Oulton & therefore exempt from the charge etc.

Puff.
There was a smilie there you know!
Thanks anyway though. Perhaps paying the fee gives you access to areas that otherwise would be inaccessible then, 'cos it must be for something!

Puff,
I've held such passes on and off for years, and I think you'll find that there are restrictions. The most common are FIA controlled events and private events such as track days.

Checked out Fotango & it does look good. If I was going to do it for myself, then I would be interested. I'm hoping to actually sell a few pics, so as to cover some of the costs inherrant in my hobby. Photo-direct is a service for photographers that allows me to add a couple of quid, in order that I might get back some of the outlay. I'm fortunate, in that my main income is not dependant on photography.
Josh
Will shortly find out the restrictions, no doubt Know 'bout SBK/FIA etc.
In the meantime, how are the proofs coming on? Also look forward to seeing you up there with VisualEyes
