-is there a code on it anywhere, as i needd to get an ecu - now how do i know if i need the immobiliser excitor?

There will be a code on the engine, but youll struggle to find out much from it. I doubt that therell be any integrated immobiliser on a pre-1997 car, but to be sure Id look for an ECU with the same reference number on it.
