Default engine fitment

Hi all.

Iv just gone and bought myself a project 95 wrx with a bottom end failure.
Having purchased it the previous owner has totally stripped down the engine with no marking up of which way and where the parts were originally placed from so iv got a few boxes of bits and bobs now but the heads are complete with just the cams needing put back in place.

I was considering laying out everything and see what I can come up with and wether its worth putting it back together with new bits or going down the route of just replacing the lump.

Im struggling to find an engine to replace this one but am having difficulty in finding one but I have come across a v3/4 uk2000 engine and was wondering if its possible to fit this to my wrx, is it a simple job of doing this or does it require rewiring of any sensors or could I just swap the heads to the uk2000 block. The block that is in the wrx is an open deck and not closed so im also guessing that the uk2000 block is also open deck.

Any info would be gratefully appreciated.

Cheers,
Lee
