Default Is it worth the money

To swap my manual boost controller for an electronic one?

My new car hits fuel cut if the boost is above 1.2 Bar (ive got it set at 1 bar till its mapped)

I like the idea of them, just duno if im wasting my cash, saw this one on ebay

NEW SUBARU IMPREZA ELECTRONIC TURBO BOOST CONTROLLER on eBay, also Engine Tuning Parts, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 01-Feb-09 12:50:18 GMT)

seems to have a turbo timer in it aswell, which I want as im impatient and sitting in my car while it idls after use bores me lol

turbo timers

Why dont you just slow down and stay off boost a mile before your destination. You do know turbo timers are a grey area with the police and insurance companies, its because the vehicle is left running while its unattended.

I generally drive it off boost 50% of the time anyway and dont drive hard when I know im gona stop soon, common sense more than anything lol

I never realised the insurance issue, maybe ill just stick to a mile or so of gentle driving b4 my destination, i didnt realise that did the same job.

cheers!

Because you can leave your steering lock ect in place, run the car to defrost it in the mornings and take your keys back into the house with you !!!

Why else would you need one ?.

Bin the turbo timer!

1 they are crap
2 The Insurance people don't like them.
3 Your car is more easy to nick
4 Dont stay off boost for the last few miles and sit the car up for 15 seconds then switch off.
5 They are a waste of money!

Ditto what he said. Got one on mine and if you go for the SBC-D-SE and it comes with its own boost solonoid, cutting out the standard one. I have my forester runnng at 1.25bar.

Thing I love is the low/high setting. Great for long motorway journeys when you can turn the boost down and save on petrol
