Job opportunity at Jordan GP (serious!)
#1
This is not a wind up...
We are looking at recruiting 2-3 people to start ASAP, to work on a real-time embedded software project (for me ) We're looking for people with 3-5+ years of embedded software skills, using various processor architectures and operating systems. Some experience of basic hardware debugging is an advantage, as is experience in CAN and other similar communication systems.
This is for a project which will be used on the car for the 2003 season, so the contract length is 6-12 months to begin with. I can't give out any more details of the project now but will of course do so on application.
The location is at Jordan HQ, opposite the Silverstone race track, near Northampton. Working hours are... well... don't expect to be off home at 5:30pm every day
If you're interested, for the moment e-mail me off-line and we can take it from there.
I know this is not directly Scooby-related (Mr Moderator Sir ) but the thing is, Scoobynet is plum full of IT and engineering professionals who are motor-racing mad - what better place to find good people? It's a wonderful resource and I hope no-one thinks I'm abusing it by putting this up. I wouldn't do it for a normal company, but... hey, this is a unique opportunity to get into F1 at a fundamental level, and so I believe it is of interest to a high proportion of avid readers .
Cheers
Richard

The forums really are a great resource to finding great work force and colleagues! I've recruited 3 people to my company using online resources and they are all _very_ professional and great finds.
Good luck in the jobs..

Nice try Ian
I agree about the forums and people on here too - I've met many intelligent and (I get the impression) very skilled people at meets etc, which is why I think it's an ideal way of doing it. Better this than spamming people (which I abhor)! Thanks for the good wishes .

About the responses I expected to get really As for design work, sorry, I have no sway in that area so the best bet is to apply directly, using the contact details on www.f1jordan.com.
Anyone serious?

Hi Richard.
Yeah, sounds interesting. My CV is already at Jordan (I spoke to them over christmas), so would they have already considered/rejected me?
I've got 14 years of assembly language experience on motorola-based chipsets, less on Intel-based. I have built a variety of hardware bits and peices in my spare time over the years.
I've also got 10 years commercial "C" experience in writing hard-core real-time software running in a variety of network environments.
Can you really not even give a hint as to what is being offered?
ZXGuru.
