Default Newbie Questions - Impreza WRX STi Type R [Version 5]

Evening Chaps,

I’m just in the process of purchasing a recently imported Subaru Impreza WRX STi Type R [Version 5] as my first Japanese performance car. I’m not that familiar with this exact model and have a few queries that hopefully can be answered on here?

• Is a workshop manual available for this model?
• What are the servicing requirements?
• I believe the car should be remapped for UK fuel. Can anyone recommend a tuner in the South West area to do this work? What exactly is involved?
• What is the best way to check the DCCD is fully operational?
• When ordering parts what is the closest equivalent cars? P1? Where is the best place for parts?

Any other pearls of wisdom on the ownership of this particular model?

Thanks

John

Yeah thats right mate .... moved down to Bristol about a year ago.

Are the brakes on the Type R the same as an Sti?

If you could get me a price on discs and both sets of pads it would be good.

What is the best way to check the DCCD is fully operational?
turn DCCD all the way forward and try driving a 1 -5 mph on full lock. If in shudders and bangs then it's working

..also Bob Rawle (BR Developments) for mapping - top bloke.
