Thumbs up Jolly Green Monster

I know everyone knows how awesome Simon is but yesterday he went above and beyond the call of duty.

My friend needed his car mapping pretty sharpish and earliest we could find was the 2nd week of Jan, however we wanted it doing sooner. Dropped Simon a text at 2pm yesterday afternoon about driving down to him to get it done the same day.

Bear in mind that is a 3 and a half hour 265 mile journey from Wakefield to his place, however we needed a 3 port boost solenoid but could not find one. Not to worry Simon had one stashed away and would fit it when we arrived.

Got down there just before 9 and cracked on with getting everything setup, you may think it would be a quick remap. Fat chance brief spec of the car 2.5 cdb, md321t+ turbo and a fmic on a newage blobeye and was going to be quite involved getting it running perfectly.

2 hours later we are ready to do a road dyno and see what the car makes, due to a standard map sensor and the car being a daily driver running on v power we stuck to sensible boost of 1.5bar. All the hard work resulted in 448bhp and 472lb/ft of torque!

Once again top man, top job and true gent who is willing to go out of his way to help, hope you had a nice new year Simon. We enjoyed watching the fire works on the way home

no problem Banny.

Nice for the last car of 2008 to have been so quick and so well behaved in fact.. no boost hoses popping off.. not rebuilding the enginebay before we start not that I mind doing that but it is the dancing on the laptop (different to laptop dancing) that I enjoy.

Thanks for you kind words

Simon
