Hiya! I am new to here!
hi there every1 im kareena from west london. i have recently sold my ek9 type r that a i loved to bits, but now im looking for a classic shape sti v3/4 but i do not have a clue what they are like as im a girl lol. my civic had minor mods & i do want to mod my sti once i have purchased it.
i would appric8 an insight on the models engine, gbox, reliabilyt and what sort of power the standard internals max out at/turbo please.
i havent a clue on these cars an ive heard more bad stories about them then good!
happy new year to all, lots of love kareena x x

The version three STI was one of the best, in terms of heads and turbo choice. They'll be getting on in years now so ensure you have someone at hand to check the car over. Sorted examples are lovely to drive in standard form and come alive with a few choice mods. Looked after examples are good for around 330 bhp on standard internals and gearbox. They can take more but the chances of them going bang are increased due to the age of the car. Test drive a few to get a feel of the car, version four will have the updated interior but both are a great drive.

thank you for your kind reply, 330hp sounds more than enough, im looking to get one soon enough i have a budget of £5000, atm i havnt seen 1 that i find suitable for me. i think im abit more vunlnerable of getting bumped...if you know what mean. i dont mind paying 5k if the car has the right mods i.e ecu, intercooler & well maintained.

You should be able at todays prices to get a type r for for 5k, awesome cars if you have ever been in one acceleration is manic, only advice I can give is drive as many as you can and check everything twice. When you do buy, enjoy

My Type R is available at close to the 5k mark but there should be others in that bracket closer to you. They are the ones to go for assuming you dont mind the 2 door version otherwise the RA is the one to go for

as they said msoc i own a v4 sti import. it's just my opinion but its the better one from v3 with the better interior facelift front and had a better stronger gearbox and more torque. you can see photos of it if you go to southern area and look at msoc members and photo's (rikky sti singh) i am also new to the club but they are a great bunch
