hawkeyes cheaper than blobeyes, why?

Default hawkeyes cheaper than blobeyes, why?

Im looking round for a sti and noticed,
Why are hawkeye sti's going for the same if not cheaper than blobeye ones?

anyone no? is it the 2.5 engine or the tax?

They aren't from what I have seen if you compare like for like. However, as you say the tax issue won't help the resale value of cars newer than March 06.

EDIT: the 2.5ltr engine won't devalue it as it is a superb engine with bags full of low down torque.

probably the hawkeyes are euro imports,whilst the other blobeyes are uk cars

Prices although low still vary quite a bit, you still see 05/55 plate Sti's going for £12k onwards but then I've seen 07/57 plate Sti's going for £18k, depends how desperate you are to sell your motor I guess, so it maybe the case that the sellers of the Hawkeyes in question are desperate to sell or maybe the cars in question are imports....

I still maintain that if the car has been kept to the highest standard and has had a lot of cash spent on it then an enthusiast will still pay good money for your car and not just look for the lowest priced example.

Just sold my06 sti for £12.5k!!
Now i have this....What a come down..

i bought an sti spec d 56 reg brand new, its not even 2 years old and its valued at £12,500!! bit of a drop from the £28,500 which they were when i bought it and its only done 17,700 miles!! gutted

I paid £20k for mine, second hand, couple of thousand miles on and 1 year old (2 years ago). Still took a big hit, but I intend to keep it so it really doesn't bother me. It's all relative. I px'd my 350z for the Spec D for £18k and I think they are now worth about £10k.
