Im looking round for a sti and noticed,
Why are hawkeye sti's going for the same if not cheaper than blobeye ones?

They aren't from what I have seen if you compare like for like. However, as you say the tax issue won't help the resale value of cars newer than March 06.
EDIT: the 2.5ltr engine won't devalue it as it is a superb engine with bags full of low down torque.

Prices although low still vary quite a bit, you still see 05/55 plate Sti's going for £12k onwards but then I've seen 07/57 plate Sti's going for £18k, depends how desperate you are to sell your motor I guess, so it maybe the case that the sellers of the Hawkeyes in question are desperate to sell or maybe the cars in question are imports....
I still maintain that if the car has been kept to the highest standard and has had a lot of cash spent on it then an enthusiast will still pay good money for your car and not just look for the lowest priced example.

I paid £20k for mine, second hand, couple of thousand miles on and 1 year old (2 years ago). Still took a big hit, but I intend to keep it so it really doesn't bother me. It's all relative. I px'd my 350z for the Spec D for £18k and I think they are now worth about £10k.
