Default Whats the Difference

Hello All, As you will be able to tell from my post this is my 1st time on here.

I'm looking at buying a Subaru Impreza WRX STi Prodive on an 02 Plate. What's the difference between a WRX and an STi?

Thanks

STi has been "breathed on" by Subaru Technica International which is the performance arm of Subaru. The Prodrive edition has further enhancements as Prodrive do the WRC team for STi.

More speed/power, better brakes and suspension over a "standard" WRX

Not sure if this applies to all models, but on the 06 onwards I know you get a 6 speed gear box, DCCD, bigger turbo, bigger intercooler, stiffer springs, brembo brakes and obviously all the styling over the WRX on the STi as standard. Probably more but that's all I am aware of

depends on whither you are happy with a wrx at around 220bhp or you want more power from an sti at 265bhp.

sti is a much better car, especially if you slip down the modding route like most peeps
02 plate should have 6 speed gear box too and better brakes

The Prodrive Edition has :-
Blue dials.
Side skirts.
Different front bumper with fog-light covers ( v.expensive ! )
A large (proper) Subaru rear wing
All as standard.

PPP is an ecu and exhaust swap to give 305 bhp, with a warranty.

STI has six speed gearbox, 330mm Brembo front brakes and 290mm (?) twin pot rear Brembo's too.

Pretty nice seats, also an adjustable shift light/beeper, wider 17" alloys, fatter tyres, stiffer struts/springs, and iirc a quicker steering rack (?) than the WRX model of the same year.

Model type is GDB !

P.S. A modded WRX can be a very nice road car, a modded STI is awesome.
