Default bonnets carbon fibre and original , need quick replies

someone just reversed into my car, the spare wheel on the back of there jeep has knackered my bonnet, i'm happy to settle this without going through the insurance, need to know the best place to get a new bonnet, and possably a good make of carbon fibre bonnet, it may be cheaper because no painting required. also is the uk turbo version 6 the same one as the sti version 6 ,both aluminium ?, at least I think the sti one is.

has anyone bought or seen this one?Euroline Subaru Impreza carbon fibre bonnet 95-00

is carbon fibre bonnet easy to fit, do they usually come with holes for widow washers etc?

Wink

UK turbo was never known as a version 6. The versions only applied to the jdm cars. As far as i know no uk classics had alloy bonnets.

just had a look on ebay,I dont want second hand but yeah, seems the sti is a light weight version.
the guy whose girlfriend reversed into me. his friend works in a body repair centre, it seems like a decent outfit, but if i leave it to them i'll end up with a steel bonnet

I want £490 quid and i'll sort out a seibon cf bonnet, thats not unreasonable is it? how much would a new ali bonnet and respray cost.

and btw i was happy with the car all one colour, this isnt a way of getting cf for free.

i usually expect the worst, steel bonnet bad colour match etc

just remember the carbon bonnet is heavier than the ally one if you are into weight saving etc

Oh man! All JDM (WRX) Saloons had an aluminium bonnet. UK 2000 Turbo AWD models had a steel bonnet.

It should be: if not then it has been replaced with a cheaper/easier to find steel example. Used aluminium bonnets are like rocking horse ****e (and their new price is shocking)...

glad we got that cleared up , gc8 did you delete a post or did i imagine it?

there is at least one lightweight bonnet for sale on ebay for £150 .
anyway back to what I was saying, would it be wrong to expect £490 for a cf bonnet considering the price availability and paint matching involved of getting an ally replacement?

there are four on ebay 2 pre facelift 2 facelift, only one will deliver costs 315 and will then need painting inside and out. I just hope the guy has £490 it seems like the cheapest option

I deleted a post. Your original post wasnt particularly clear and I thought that you had a UK car.

With regards to availability, Im principally going on what I was told at Grade-A a couple of months ago. New youre in for a shock though: and a wait.

am so pissed of right now, the car was spottless when i bought it about 1 and a half years ago, since then it has had wind deflector broken two wing mirrors broken (but manged to repair) a dent in passenger door very small dent in roof, all done by a random drunk. now this.

the police were involved in the first incident, the guy was ment to pay £500 i've seen about 120 of that and its been a year almost to the day.

I was referring to facelift bonnets btw, early bonnets are lot easier to come by.

yes, they are as rare as rocking horses.

The difference between steel and aluminium is very apparent - you can lift an ally one with one finger easily, steel one will result in a dislocation.

hawkeyes have an aluminium bonnet, maybe its worth checking out european mainland scooby dealers. My car was imported from cyprus and was several grand cheaper than a uk one, maybe bonnets are cheap as well

but thanks for the info, i would have bought a CF bonnet if it wasnt for this post

edit although 07 bonnet prob wouldnt fit an earlier model..soz
