Default 8.5" Rim with 225/40 tyres

If anyone has an 8.5" rim with a 225/40 tyre fitted I would be very grateful if you would post pics to let me see what it looks like. Also a 235 tyre would be good to see as well. Rim diameter would be 18"

Thanks in advance

Jonny.

There is a Rota thread on North American Subaru Impreza Owners Club that has alot of pics of wide wheels, I really want a set of 18" x 9" Rotas after viewing that thread

Cheers bud but can't seem to find it. Been looking at Rotas myself and thinking 9" is gona be too wide. I don't want to have to make a whole load of changes to the car to make them fit. My next option are the Dare Drift RS rims. They are very similar to Advan Rs's and Rota Force's and come in 7.5" and 8.5" but not 8" as far as I can see.

I would like a bit wider that 7.5 so that is why I'm keen to see what a 225 tyre looks like on a 8.5 rim. I think 235 might be a touch wide and don't want to risk rubbing but want to see if a 225 looks too stretched. Arch rolling is an option but a last resort.

It doesn't matter what rim pic is posted as long as the width/tyre is the same as above.

235 would be better, aong with an 8.5" wheel this will help square up the shoulder a bit more. Could get a 245 on also I reckon.

Depends on the tyre IMHO.

For instance a 225 Goodyear F1 Asymmetric comes up a lot wider than any other 225 I've seen. Look more like 235 TBH..

I run a 18x8J with 225 40 18 GYF1A's and they look fine:

Thanks guys.

T123VOR - What size of tyre are you running, I can't quite make it out? Also your offset. I take it you've had no probs with rubbing.

I run 225s on 18 x 8.5 Dare Drift RS & they do leave a bit of a lip and offer hardly any protection from kerbing. In retrospect i'd of fitted 235s and will do once the existing 225s are worn out

^^ Thanks mate. Your rim width would be 8.5, but do you know the offset?
