Default Good service??

I contacted (via e-mail) a well known Subaru breakers about a part for my car and needed to phone to confirm a final detail:

"yes hello, can you tell me if the *** has any xyz's in it"?

"no it hasn't, it's a new one"

"ah perfect, can I order it please"?

"no"

"no"?

"we can't send it out"

"aaah, is it for collection only"?

"yes"

"ah right, I'm away from home until the end of the Month and it's a long way to come, but I'll organise it, can I order and pay for it now, and collect it as soon as I come home"?

"no"
.
.
.
.
a long silence
.
.
.
.
.
"ah right, so it's not possible to pay for it to make sure it's still there for me"?

"no"
.
.
.
.
"ah, ok then, I'll phone again when I'm home"

"ok"
.
.
.
.
"errrrm, bye then"

*click*

This from a company that has an online "shop" selling things like bumpers and wings, and advertises "Next day delivery can be arranged by DHL or Royal Mail - from a light bulb to an engine"!

Granted, the item I was looking at was a bit bigger than a wing, but it wasn't a fookin bodyshell or anything!!

Now I have to hope that this "almost exactly what I was looking for" part is still there at the beginning of November, and then will have to do a 200 mile or so round trip for it.

The lassie on the phone was quite abrupt with her responses too.....not polite at all.

If you want, I'll help you out, as long as it's not too far away from me. Bit of petrol money would be fine mate and can store it for you.

Pm me if your interested Marty.

Cheers Sasha don't want to upset the "holier than thou" brigade with a change of personality.
