Smile Unbelievable economy from an Impreza

Just managed to get 33mpg out of my Impreza. It was 260 miles of motorway driving followed by about 70 miles around town. Before any ones asks, yes it is a turbo.

Thats very good!
It shows the potential of driving slower when its not needed!
61MPG is just wrong!
Diesels are deffo the future. They are getting faster and faster, and with this sort of fuel economy + fuel prices, they make so much sense when buying with your head rather than heart.
When are we going to see a performance Impreza Diesel?

Just a forewarning, good MPG is sometimes a symptom of a MAF sensor on its way out....

I drove from London to Manchester one weekend...cost me £80 one way. (I had to fill up 3/4 of the way up! I averaged near 90mph

Drove up again the following weekend at the painfull speed off 70mph and it cost me £45 one way

Now i wasnt driving up for the fun of it..had two wedding on seperate weekends

Just done the same trip in my Wifes 1.8L focus (well lets just say it was a Booring Drive) and it cost me £35

Had the MAF sensor replaced about a year ago and using a standard air filter so hoping it should be ok for a while yet.

ok imagine this, 240 miles 1 7/8 tanks of fuel one way ( average 130mph as i was late) way back at 80 to 90 with a few bursts 3/4 of a tank

the faster ya go the MORE fuel you waste,,,, now the INTERESTING PART

took me 2 and a half hours ish one way and 3 and a half hours on the way back,,,, not that much time tbh for the cash wasted as i had to get fuel twice on the way and that was the point the missus wanted to go toilet/buy a drink and get some food which killed my time speeding,,,, in otherwords was POINTLESS

speeding only works if you got a fuel tank larger than a STI classic

cornwall a couple of weeks ago now i managed 392 miles out of my wrx
20 miles of cornish backroads and the rest motorway back to hull from newquay and i was doing between 70-80 mph

there was no v power around or tesco 99 so i had to fill up with morrisons aswell so i got more mileage out of morrisons stuff compared to v power i used on the way down there
