Question What Tyres?

Hi, i've got a my 1999 impreza classic running on newage alloys, the tyres are 225/45/17's but are nearly worn out. I'm looking to replace them soon but i'm not sure what tyre i should go for and what size is best for my car. I'd like a sporty tyre that's not going to wear out too quickly; i'm also on a bit of a budget.
What do you reccomend?

Kwik Fit wouldn't fit my tyres because i didn't get them from them!!!

I got my T1-R's from Ebay £160 delivered. 215/45/17. The shop there had all sizes too.

Theyre not that bad actually. A friend of mine fitted a full set and he was happy with them. He does drive like a big girl though. Paying more for tyres doesnt always lead to your getting better tyres.....

That said: Id be looking at a set of Falkens.

Is that true, about the 912s being better than the 452s? If so, you may have saved me some moolah!

Im under the impression that the 912 is the new tyre. Best to check yourself on Falkens website before you buy.

The 912 is the new 512, asymmetrical design, seems to be rated well, and at £52 a corner cant be bad at all.

I need to identify the correct Falken tyres for my girlfriends car: Ive given up. I need one page which accurately and honestly compares all of the tyres in their range.

You cant get much good gen from the Falken site, the 912 description doesnt really sell it as a performance tyre, although its ancestor the 512, and its tread pattern indicate it might be!

I had nankang NS2 on my Vectra 215/35 18. Never had a problem with them and i used to corner pretty hard and would be very good.

I'd certainly have no problem with buying more. They lasted a fair time too, with rotation i think i got about 18,000 miles out of a set, mind you thats on a 2wd car.

Mates used to take the pi$$ (aka Ditchfinders).
