HI Roy!
Glad to heart from Ya. There doesn't seem to be much going on in the NI Forum.
Have you any contacts in NI that would be useful I'm Sick of not being able to do much over here, I spent a fortune to go to a trackday with LTR in october left for the ferry at 2am and guess what they cancelled the ferry. I am in the SIDC and will join the Irish Impreza club when I get round to it, only just heard if them as I am only just on the NET.
Where abouts in Belfast?

You are right. It is dead in the local forum. I have just joined the Irish club and am waiting for membership to come through. I usually team up with the RS Owners Club over here and go to some of there track days. Done one at Knockhill last summer, which was a bit more dangerous/exciting (delete as appropriate). I think there is a Subaru shoot out at our 1st 4wd rolling road in late February. I am waiting to here for definate. I live beyond you a few miles in Saintfield.

Roy,
Where is the Rolling Road as I have only heard of it on the BB, Have you ever heard of a guy Ian Bishop, I got in contact with him through a body shop, He used to work for prodrive and TTE and he fixed a very annoying problem for me that the dealer couldn't fix in 5 months!!. He sets up McGarrity's WRC!
My dealer is a little bit obstructive when it comes to a bit of modding (even with prodrive stuff) and I'm not sure who I would let work on the car but a dealer, any ideas?

Rolling road is in Cookstown. Not sure exactly, as I have never been. I haven't heard of Ian Bishop ever. Which dealer do you use? I use Mc Keary in Coleraine. He operates "Performace Subaru" and is very good, if a little on the dear side. He only uses quailty stuff though, and will stand over any work. He does most of the mods on my own car.

I use SERE, I bought the car there, they don't seem too dear for the likes of a service £100-£130 and the Mechanics know what they are about, but they don't encourage mods. Found out there on saturday that they are no longer a Subaru dealer, I wonder if they can still carry out warranty work?

I went to Sere last week, as my front drive shaft was knocking. No mention of not being a Subaru dealer and they are checking it is a warranty job. They are taking there time about it. I may just have to cancel and take it to Coleraine. You are right though, servicing is not the shock I expected. Just had 30000 mile service. Bill.....£350ish.

Sorry Kel. He is probably offline and will get a big shock tommorrow when he sees how popular he is already!!!
Yeah 30000 is a big one, and I did not need new brakes.
Have you just got the air-filter or other mods, or even the Prodive Package?
I must Email you with the long list I have done to mine.

Wink

yeah, send me an email with what you have had done and what you thought of them. I'm a little bit tied in what I can do, due to a minor mishap on a roundabout (pesky understeer) and a huge insurance premium but it would be good to hear what a local fella has had done without a trip to somewhere like s'sport!! ;-)
BTW it may well be IM dragging their heals over warranty work I've had a fair but done under warranty and the only time there was any bother was when it had to go to IM to approve, and from reading the BB this seems to be the standard from them!!

Morning Chaps,
Another "Belfast Child" here.
Andy, did I see you in Knockbracken service station last Sunday? If so - nice car
I use Des Eastwood in Lisburn. The guy who service all the Turbo's is a complete fanatic. He knows the history of most of them without checking the records. I was in yesterday he was working on an Sti V, so it looks like they don't worry about the grey import thing. They are also v reasonable for service work, repairs and mods. They will do basically anything reasonable you ask. Anything I've priced, Eastwood have been 10-15% cheaper than s.e.r.e.

FB

Carryduff.

p.s. Do you know anyone with the full ss exhaust? I like the theory of the noise and flames, but I quite like most of my neighbours so I'd like to get a listen before I do something that they will regret..

Mc Keary also does the import work. It is the fact he can supply all manner of goodies for both UK an d import cars that makes him stand out for me. (He has an RB5 himself). Great with advice etc. He showed me a HKS manifold last week which will be fitted to one of his customers cars.
Any mods Fast Bloke?

Thanks for the mail. I will keep an eye out for you as I work in Carryduff.

What is your insurance stinging you?

I'm 28 and its £750, which I know is a great deal, but I give them about £12000 of work through my business

Andy,
I've heard the Silver one on Lisburn Road. I didn't realise he actually had an exhaust fitted...
