Default Sorting out my FMIC problems in Carlisle :)

Hi all….I don’t post often but I would welcome some help with my broken APS FMIC.

One of the intercooler pipes between the FMIC core and the hard pipes down by the nearside has split and I need to find a replacement.

Unfortunately APS has discontinued this pipe and I need to have a replacement fabricated.

Is there anywhere local to me here in Carlisle who can dismantle the front end so I can send off the split pipe for a replacement to be made 

I’d be more than happy for someone to dismantle the car on my drive if needed.

Cheers

Can't you just buy a piece of silicon hose the right inner diameter and a couple of hose clips...

Remove pipe, chop out damaged section and add silicon hose...

Depends how long the split is ... but dunx has a great answer above - plenty of options aside from buying the exact pipe. May sound daft, but have you tried some tape around the pipe?

Dunx

I have looked at the pipe and it seems to curve down to the FMIC and isn't very "straight" at that point

There is a few places in Carlisle that will repair it. or fabricate a new piece. Aero springs to mind, they specialize in alloy and stainless pipe welding and are known to be good. They are near the old 14mu site.

you could also have a look at merlin motorsport, they do pipes in various diameters and shapes (along with silicon hoses as well) could well sort it out for you. I used bits from them on my fmic when I had my scoob (debbiesonic can probably vouch for my FMIC work )
