Default NEWBIE SAYING HI

hi guys and girls just joined the site and wanted say hi and also so wanted ur advise im picking my first scooby 2mrow its a k plate ra its nice clean std car apart from filter and 2.5"exhaust but with both cats still in place after test driving it i can already tell the car not quick enough 4 me so im already on the case ov a nice front mount up rated fuel pump and 440 or 550 injectors may b bigger turbo unequal length tub manifold and a remap 2 sort everything out apart from the clutch which il change when it breaks wht else is likly 2 go wrong and can any 1 give me some advise and spec ov this car iv been told it possably has a close deck engine as std can any 1 advise plz cheers all

Yes it does have a close deck block, shame the rest of the engine isnt as good
Best thing to look for is a detailed service history, no service history, no buy, its quite simple, start there, see whats been replaced, see what needs replacing, being tidy on the outside doesnt mean its a good car

If your uprating, dont go too mad, to start with its an old car (15 years old), you also need to run the car on a minimum of super unleaded as thats what they are mapped for, your options from there start to cost you money

First thing I would do is speak with your insurance co, see how much mods will cost you, then get the brakes sorted, early cars have crap brakes, then maybe some handling mods, power is no good if you cannot stop or go round corners .

I hate text speak on a forum, to start with it's not hard to type the full word out as you have no problems with the ammout of characters you use, its also only used because of the above, and its annoying

cheers for the info mate well i brought the car and had it check by a local subaru place and all seems well its a clean car for its year but like u say its 15years old iv had it less than a week and iv already done a oil/filters/plug change and gear box and diff oli change give it a damm good clean spoiler off and that also fitted a full 3"de cat exhaust front mounted intercooler fitting a 255 fuel pump tomorrow also a adjustable fuel pressure regulator and making up some equal lenght fuel lines also brought a mapped ecu 4 allthese mods off another ra so when it all complete il have a simple remap 2 get the most out the mods just trying too find a decent set ov injectors tho can any one advise on good place too get a lower lip for the phase1 front bumper as the intercooler pipes are showing now?jonny il take it thats you bud im getting the hang ov this queen english talk
