My car has done 108,000 miles.

I just worked out that to fuel this mileage would cost £18,000!

That is ****ing scary! Ok I've only had it for 20k but thats still near £3500...

Oh well, worth every penny!

Work out how much it'd cost to do 20k on the buses or the trains...might make you feel a bit better.

Mark,

You think thats scary, my the last 2 tanks of fuel have lasted less than 150 miles each, hate to think what mpg I am getting at the moment, just to add to problem I have got an uprated fuel pump on the way!

Have you got your brakes on yet?

Colin.

Colin,

Something not right there m8 :/ that works out at 13.62 mpg based on a 50L tank or 11.35 mpg based on a 60L tank My modded 94 WRX gets average 18 - 20 mpg with normal driving and 8 mpg on thrash (1/4 mile / race) days.

Time 4 a tuneup ??

Just to annoy you, my 2.5 Legacy (not quite as quick, I admit ) does 28mpg, and I'm about to convert it to LPG. End result, 25-26mpg, and 38p/litre

Okay, yeah, it's not quite up there on the fun scales, but at least I can afford to do the 120mile 'round trip to work

Pete,

I too have a 94 WRX. Part of the problem is at the moment only doing very short journey's and also fitted an HKS FCON 5 which has not been mapped yet. Will get ECU mapped when the uprated fuel pump is in, my front mount is on and when I can afford a set of 550cc injectors. What mods have you carried out on yours, have you any rolling road figures, 0-60 and quarter mile times as it would be handy to know for future plans. I will have to start looking at uprated turbos soon as well. Can your WRX reach 60 in second as mine hits the limiter at 53mph.

Cheers Colin.

OK Whip, here goes..

My commute is 7200 miles a year, I pay £1536 for my seaon ticket and work 240 days year.

This works out around 21.3p a mile on public transport.

The calculation does not take into account the discomfort and reliability of public transport and the 30 minute each way walk to get the train as well.

Sorry 2 hijack the thread but Colin asked.

Colin,
No mods on the car m8 jus the following "upgrades"
HKS super power flow induction, Pace FMIC & race radiator with my own stone guard on it, blitz super blowoff dump, STi clutch,
Stainless doownpipe, fujitsubo sonic megatone backbox, whiteline anti lift / dive kit, whiteline uprated swaybars all round, GAB top adjustable suspension, polybushes where needed, modified front grill, twin lambda probes (1 in manifold & 1 in downpipe), lambda link, knock link, possum link ECU 2 go back in as well (took it out b4 the last dyno so i knew my starting point pre mapping). Loadsa other monitoring stuff etc.

0-60 ? bout 6 secs guestimate (slo)
Best 1/4 mile 12.8 secs
Best terminal speed 105mph
Top speed 169mph (not on a public road) confirmed by m8 on his ZX10

Current figures 304bhp @ fly, 256 lbf-ft torque, 173bhp @ wheels
will get a lot better after the link goes back in i recon cos only runnin 0.8bar jnow

Pete,

Sounds good. Did the white line anti lift kit make much differance to acceleration a from standing start, as my car suffers from alot of wheel spin (front only) on standing starts.

Your quarter mile time sounds good, mine is 13.4 and 0-60 is 4.88, so I would imagine your 0-60 time is about 4.2/3 in reality.

On the rollers mine was 265bhp and 260 lbft and just over 200 at whees, also at 0.8 bar.

Mods at time for figures above:-
HKS induction kit.
HKS sparkplugs.
HKS down pipe.
Fujitsubo centre and tail silencers.
Lightend and balanced flywheel,
Helix organic clutch.

Mods ready to be fitted:-
HKS FCON 5 ecu,
HKS GCC,
HKS EVC 4,
Apexi front mount,
Uprated fuel pump,

Mods waitng to buy:-
550cc injectors,
Fuel pressure regulator,
HKS turbo,
HKS pistons,
HKS head gaskets,
Arrow rods.

Looks like I better start saving.

Colin.

Colin,

Mota sounds good there m8
The antilift did make a difference 2 standing starts. I used 2 spin all 4 wheels off the line but not any more, not sure if it was all because of the antilift or partially because i`d changed the settings on my suspension.

Oldly nuff my 0-60 is crap it`s the 60 - 160 thats the more impressive

Mail me if u want any gen on stuff.
