New Backbox Advice Please
I'm picking up a 04 WRX this week and the exhaust note is rubbish!!
I would like some advice on what brands are best and where to get them from. Please comment also if you have experience of them on your car.
I dont want it too loud really as I live in a quiet housing estate but must have a bit of grunt!!
Just backboxes please guys. Many thanks!!!
PICS WOULD BE GREAT TOO!!!

The Prodrive one's are fine for a subtle but noticeable change.
Ninja are a next step up, with a deeper sound but still quite civilised.
Vortex/Blitz, H+S Jap style are all too loud.
I haven't any first hand experience with other makes.

Had a prodrive, was quiet but could still hear the burble.
Have a ninja now and I don't think it'll upset any neighbours (i have a straight through centre too). With the bung in I think its roughly the same as the prodrive one

Prodrive or TSL Group N backbox, both sound sweet and aren`t too loud untill you give it some.
There`s a resonably priced TSL backbox in the for sale section at the mo

Above link includes sound clips although I didn't find them very clear. Here's one on a classic (not mine FYI) clicky

Yep, revolution usually stock a lot of stuff
I know it's going to be unpopular but I'd go for a Magnex 6x4 oval or round back box
Cheap as chips even new and better second hand but very quiet at tickover ..... then at 4000 RPM just wind the windows down LOL

I meant I've got one of their own cat back systems
I was interested in the 'Ninja 1' (I preferred the design over the '2') but found more positive comments about the Revolution ones. I phoned them up and they fit it the same day.

Bit of an update, I went to put the deposit down on my new car last night and maybe I was a bit hasty on the exhaust being rubbish. I found a receipt for a Hayward And Scott Exhaust only 2500 miles old. I'm thinking I may leave it on now as its a quality brand and its so new!!
I still think it seems a bit quiet. I believe the do a smaller and larger backbox so this must be a smaller one.
Anyone else own the smaller H & S??

I have a Revolution Slashcut on my 03 WRX, it was on the car when I bought it and is not too loud and gives a nice burble. Thinking about changing it for a louder one though. Piccies on the left....
