RCM won this one, very pleased for them especially as they drive the car themselves.

Anyone get any pics or vids? I thought there'd be more on this thread. There was defo more spectators this year.

Well done to RCMS, and its good to see the Zen car on pace again after the dissappointments from round 1, definitely much more to come from that car - I can't wait for round 3

Was a great day out, first time ive made it up to Time Attack, the cars were really impressive. Even ended up with Knockhill face (burnt nose and cheeks, very similar to Crail face)

My mate took over 500 photos so i will put up a link to his flickr account once he uploads them. Think there will be a couple of your car in there Dill, you were going well, we were walking round the track and could tell the car was being pushed hard, even saw a couple of squeeky bum moments as the car got a little out of shape

Defo more spectators than last year, hope we put a good display on for them, missed the drifting this year as i had too many problems with the car to let me wander off for more than 10 minutes at a time

The new rear bumper helps air flow, normal bumpers act like a scoop.

The Gobstopper is/was 850bhp i think. It was clocked last week at the Scottish motorshow by traffic cops on there speed gun going up the straight at 139mph!

They've cut out the spare wheel well from the boot and replaced it with a carbon panel to save weight. This would then give them a flat froor underneath, box it in and it would act like a rear diffuser.

Interesting to see them doing laps in the low 50 secs at Knockhill. When I lived in Scotland 10 years ago, the Audi A4 Quattro touring car had a qualifying lap of 50 sec with only 300bhp. Oh and Frank Biela. And since then the track has also been altered to make it quicker.

Power ain't everything, get it to handle, brake and grip.
The green/white Autosportif Impreza has only 500bhp yet was more than 2 seconds a lap quicker than RCM at Donington for Round One.

50 second lap is quick but is that on slicks and not road tyres. While that is very impressive for the level of power BTCC is a totally different league. The autosportif is a GT racer rather than a tuner car I think though, also a different class of car compared to other tuners. AFAIK autosportif tune race cars for race teams, whereas the remainder of the field fettle with road cars for the most part, some do rally and hill climbs too, some of which now are full on track beasts
