just been told today that the head gasket has gone again for the 2nd time in 6 months,my question is,isit worth just getting it fixed or would i be better off looking at new engine?any ideas folks

Take it right back to where it was replaced last time as they obviously didn't do the job properly!!

before getting head gasket changed again i would be finding out why it has gone twice in 6 months.

for example have you got coolant circulation problems,warped heads or block?these would be the questions i would want the garage to answer first before making any decisions.

the trouble i have is that the last time it went,i took it to a garage who did the work and did more damage then good,so i had to take it to re motorsport (subaru specialist) and the engine had to come out again as the engine hadnt been put back in correct and ther was leaks all over the place.so they payed for the parts but it took me 6 weeks to get the money,do i go back to them now and say my head gaskets gone again,i dont want them doing the work,so i have left the car with re again.the garage i went to is supposedly a japanese car specialist!!obviously not as he fcuked my car up the first time,but surely if it was fixed properly last time it shouldnt go again 5 months later?

Exactly; Most head gasket failures are caused by a problem elsewhere (normally associated with being overheated); if the root causes are not rectified and checks haven't been made to ensure damage hasn't extended beyond just the head gaskets; It will fail again, and again, and again....

id check to see why they keep blowing or u will keep changing gaskets . get it professionly tested before hand .

yea iv got it with a subaru specialist now hu always does my work except for the last wally that did my head gasket,so will have to see wot he says
