Not many in the country Nissan trying to stop imports as UK GTR won't be here untill next year IIRC
Iain litcho took me out in his JDM GTR and it's Awesome but Huge
Power and Gearbox was amazing
IIRC it was close to £60K

Gorgeous cars, not the R34, but we knew what you meant!
Think they have been imported for a little while now but iirc there is some problems with emissions on imported versions.
UK version is near on 60k! Wow! Mind you, prefer that to an M3/5 =O)

The market place would have been taken up by all Imports and Dealers wouldn't be able to sell any UK model IMHO

If its the new one then it would be the R35 and yes its awesome. Great car. Theres a lot a debate as to the actual power of the engine, think quota is 480 ish but some people cant beleive that this figure cant offer this level of performance, even with their swanky dsg gearbox thingy. Have read that some people beleive figure is at the hubs, meaning its running somewhere like 560-580 at the fly.
If the car proves reliable and reletively ecomonic to maintain (reletive to its selling price obviously) then its going to be a true legend amonsgt us lesser types that cant afford the higher class badges.
I have to admit, i grabbed the copy of CAR that came out with it, then grabbed the copy of EVO with it in also, and so nearly went to the Tonbridge dealer to place a deposit. The thing that changed my mind was the 20k hike in price from the one sold in japan (35k compared to 55k), it left me feeling a little ripped off. Second was the fact that everyone was raging about it that if you owned it it would bring so much attention i wouldnt be able to handle it. People constanly glaring and asking questions, im too old for all that. Sure a ferrari, an r8, a lambo, even a scooby with a loud exhaust will get people turning heads and having a butchers, but i think this would cause too much attention. And lastly, the fact that in from the day its released its going to be on max power magazine, and in 5 years time it would be affordable to the types that fill it with speakers, cover it in bodykits and tune it for even more power. I dont have aproblem with those people, its just that i allready own one car that is semi like that and i dont really want to be associated with them. My scooby is my second car and is totally commited to being a driving tool, not a pulling machine.
Oh and the very very very last thing that ticked me of into not buying it was the fact that the car has a huge waiting list, not because its so popular that supply cant meet demand (in very rough macro terms without going into specifics) but because theyre not releasing it in the UK for another 18 months, even though its available in japan, now, in RHD.
Id also much rather work some extra over time and save for a very basic R8, much more desirable.

oh and just to add, the tonbridge dealer couldnt give a confirmed price, some people saying the starter model was £52k, others saying it would start at £60k, the dealer only saying somewhere between £52k and £58k. £6k's a big difference when its close on financing, and then to top it all off the next week i find out on pistonheads the whole of the 2009 allocation has gone and ill be waiting for the 2010 plate car 6 months later (so a total of then 24 months wait)
I thought bugger off, ill stick to buying models of my ferrari's, sticking them in 'grow-bags' from my local gardening centre and trying desperately to make them swell to full size.

Having read other posts about KTC, I wonder if they managed to trash the engine and clutch in the few hours they had it?

That was GTC's GTR, It was dynoed at Perfect touch, however it was running BP 102 Ron fuel, so on normal pump fuel it maybe closer to the quoted figure.

another reason they're delaying it is the sat nav, in japan it uses gprs to determine where the car is and what the limit is so it restricts it to suit, the only time its un restricted is on a track, and a nissan approved one at that
