Default Getting miffed now, what could it be?

Right can any body help me before either my bank balance runs out of i break something!

My 96 uk turbo has a really annoying hick up on idle and i dont know what it could be. It runs fine and doesnt hold back at all, the only problem is the idle which stays constant but hick ups every 5 burbles or so.Also when i start the car its fine, but after coming to a stop is when it idles rough and my boost gauge flickers. Heres the low down on the spec and what ive tried so far:
Spec
-Blitz nur spec full through with api decat downpipe
-K&N induction kit
-GFB dump valve-currently atmospheric
-HKS FCD
Tried
-Replaced mashed up old coilpacks with good condition used packs
-Cleaned my maf and tried another maf but runs the same
-Changed sparks for new ngk 6s
-Changed fuel filter, oils etc recently
-Took the idle control valve off the have a look and cleaned it

All the above to no avail. So what do you think it is? Cant find any air leaks Could it be the dv, boost pack (clicks occasionally)? Could it be that its not been chipped/remapped? Im getting an walbro fp soon will this help?
Any suffered similar symtoms??
Any (useful) comments welcome

Paul

It really does sound like an air leak to me, have you got an Active charcoal filter it's under the car on the drivers side and it lets the fuel tank breath but not into the atmosphere my mate had a pipe leak of that from and caused that hicup on idle, I'd check the pipe from the intake to the cannister under drivers side rear, (just behind the wheel) for leaks.
Hope this helps.

Hi. yeah this wouldnt effect the performance of the vehicle, my mateds was the same. You say you've removed the throttle body from the car and cleaned it as well? If not remove the thottle from the car and clean it inside where butterfly is and retest.

Havnt taken the throttle body off yet, only the idle control valve.
May give that a go too.
I think if i cant find any air leeks then i'll have to have a diagnostic done

definatly take throttle and get some decent carb and intake cleaner on it as this controls the idle speed hence if "carbon'd" up will give poor idle control.

Paul

My old UK97 idled like a bag of sh*t with the VTA dump valve on..........replaced it for an oem item and put the vta back on when I mapped with the apexi ecu. Ran fine after that.

Might be worth trying?

As above would go back to re-circ , vta are renouned for causing issues .
