Looking to buy a classic
Evening all
First post so i'd just like to say a big hello to everyone.
I have been looking for a classic subaru for quite some time now and i have just stumbled across this
Subaru : uk turbo 2000 fsh proven 303 bhp
Not too clued up on subarus so was looking for some advice on what to look out for, how reliable they are and does this car look like it has the right modifications carried out to it??
Thanks

i bought my classic turbo 2000 with similar spec for £5000 in january.... i have print out for 284bhp at scoobyclinic...
i would say the price is a little steep but not way and beyond, looks like a well looked after car and you get lots of papers and extra bits as well it seems.
if it is as geniune as advertised (which it prob is as i think the seller is actually on scoobynet) then its probably worth it because you can buy subarus of that spec for even £4500 but if the engine goes in a month then you gotta fork out another £1000 for that..... meaning its the same as spending £5500 in the first place.
offer says "sensible offers," offer him £5500 or even £6000. you can skimp on racing seats other accessories but you cant skimp on the car

Welcome to SN.
Sensible mods, low mileage, appears to be nicely looked after. Price is fair I think. If you go and view it and like what you see, make them a provisional offer of 5500 subject to a clean HPI check and favourable report from an independent mechanical inspection.

For a little bit extra you could get my one with a bigger spec. Running almost 400 bhp.
Id accept between £7000 - £7500
Subaru : 390 BHP CLASSIC IMPREZA (MY00)

A UK classic's internals can handle 400bhp with the right supporting mods and careful mapping! The above car will be absolutely fine with forged internals built and mapped by APi

Hi, timchump had one for sale on here and on ebay 333bhp UK 1999. Looks a very nice car I was tempted till I found my STI .
Not sure if it sold or not dont think it went on ebay he wanted £5750 for it. If he still has it might do you a deal.

"A few tasty extras:
VF35 turbo
Bigger top mount intercooler
Warlbro 255 fuel pump
Scooby clinic fuel regulator
K&N panel filter
GFB dump valve (not too chav sounding)
Hayward and scott de-cat system (sounds ace)
Drilled and vented front disks with mintex pads
Exedy race clutch (done 2000 miles)
Fidanza lightened racing flywheel (no probs in traffic)
Eku-tek remap done by scoobyclinic when they performed the power upgrade"
Sorry, they are NOT tasty and would make me run a mile ...... buy standard, buy safely!
