Can I use A Dyson To Suck Out All The C**P From My Intercooler
I'm getting made a new splitter so lots of lovely cold air can be sucked into my intercooler, especially now the "nice Spring Weather is here".
I am thinking of geting Wifelet's Dyson Soft Brush attachment on the Honeycombs (in situ) and sucking out all the garbage.
Good idea?
What do you think?
Regards

Thanks for the wit everyone.
Clearly, you have not met Wifelet.
I was in Tesco with her last week & I put 24 Cans of Stella in the trolley.
She asked WTF I thought I was doing?
I said it's on special offer & only £10 for 20 Cans.
I was told to put it back as Nice Alastair Darling's budget, had made us have to cut back.
Later she picked up a small Jar of Girlie Cream @ £20 a Jar.
I asked her WTF she thought she was doing?
To be told, it makes me look beautiful for you.
I said after 20 Cans of Stella she would look beautiful to me also, AT HALF THE PRICE!!
So, OK to use the Dyson on the Inter cooler & not the Pole?
Regards

lol,
the only way to do it properly is to remove it.
If you do, hold it up to the light and see how much cr@p there is blocking the fins. You'll be lucky to see daylight through it..!
Use a degreaser, soak then flush with a gentle flow from an open hosepipe. Should wash most of it out, although you might not get the tiny bits of grit out as they lodge. You can carefully use a toothpick, but TBH, they won't matter if left.
Also, carefully straighten any distorted fins.
Obviously, take care not to get any water inside of IC..!
Oh, if you're running standard PCV system then you might want to check if there's any oily residue inside the IC. If so soak/wash inside out with ~4ltrs of degreaser (or petrol... Ensure all is thoroughly dried out (leave a hairdryer on low, blowing through for 10-20mins) before refitting..
Well you did ask..

For the inside I just used petrol, swirled it around and left to stand for 30 mins. Also, it'll dry out easier.
Outside, I've only ever had to flush with a steady flow of water.
Just use a hoover if you're not going to remove IC from car, although you could still flush with water in situ..
