Default Why do we call the STI8 spoiler so?

Whenever the said spoiler is talked about, be it on forums, websites, for sale etc.

Whatever, its always refered to as an STI 8 spoiler.

Why is this so when it was first introduced on the STI 7?

Sorry guys, having one of those little "WHYS THAT?" moments

Same as calling the NewAge cars V7s, 8s, 9s etc. No such thing, but easier to remember.

I have a theory, its because nobody wants to associate anything with the bugeye ( the ugliest Scooby by far IMHO ) so they went to the next model.

No idea why they call a sti8 spoiler and i have been wondering about this for quite sometime! I am sure its not because the bugeye is the ugliest car and did not want to associate it with this model. And to the guy who suggested it imho buying a wrx and badging it as a sti is up there with the worst sins of scooby ownership! (yes i own a bugeye and damn proud!) Lovin the car feature btw frayz!

STI8 was the first model of STI that had that spoiler fitted as standard.

The bugeye STI7 had the low spoiler as standard. Only the "Prodrive Style" had the bigger spoiler and that was only available in Europe!

But we're not in real life... we're in Scoobynet life.

Here in scoobynet life, dumpvalves add 20bhp, remaps are not needed for any engine mods and 20g turbos make 1000bhp ha ha ha

Oh, and by the way...

I really wish I had lexus lights on the back of my Impreza; because they look great. Honest.

There was some phrase about glass houses and stones.... just can't remember it at the moment
