Downsides to a remap?

Downsides to a remap?
As per title has anyone ever had a remap and had some negative effect?
I'm thinking things like loss of refinement, part throttle jerkiness and the like.
Reason i ask is that i recently test drove an Evo FQ-360 and tbh i was a little surprised at how it seemed a bit rough around the edges, only had 2500 miles on it. My understanding is that these cars are modified in the uk in a similar way to the sort of aftermarket mods\remaps we talk about here.
Any thoughts?

Mine is more responsive and, if you take yer foot off the fun pedal you'll be surprised at how many MPG you'll get.
A good mapper will enhance your ECU & set it to work in harmony with the fuel you have in it.
Highly recommended.
Lot's of Fun
At least this Robbing Bunch of Lick spittles haven't taxed that yet.
Oh my God what have I said??
You never know.
Remap now before they put a Tax on it!

What do you mean precisely? The FQ-360 is a proper rally car, it is brutal. I doubt it would give your passengers a comfortable ride.

FQ-360 was indeed hardcore, comfort was not really a concern, it was more the way it felt a tad rattly and buzzy, just not what i expected from a nearly new car.Mind you it did have the baffle removed from the back box, that was probably a lot to do with it.

1 big down side speed, power and driveability all improve leading to speeding tickets
My wrx just became mega down low end and you don’t realize how much speed you build up with out going hard

The last 4 cars I have owned, I have had mapped (and they were'nt all turbocharged cars).
Mapping is the way forward, as long as you adhere to your service schedule etc.
