Question uprated fuel pump needed to run 290bhp?

Should the stock fuel pump safely run 290bhp on my 02 subaru wrx?

I dont want to buy an uprated pump for the sake of it.

cheers

Not really essential, but then a Walbro's only about £80, so you'd be as well to.

I was told it would be safer to fit an uprated one when mine was mapped to a similar level (280-285bhp). As above, he did say it might be ok with the std pump, so was just a precaution.

Mine ran for a couple of years at 285 bhp on the standard pump with no problems. For peace of mind I suppose its best to upgrade and especially if you want more power in the future.

I did mine even when it only went upto 270 bhp. I would rather be safe than sorry. Modding is not something you can afford to skimp on to save money.
