Possible MAF
My engine has been idling rough lately so when i unplugged my MAF it ran like a piece of crap yet when i plug it back in it smooths out , does this mean the MAF is f**ked?

I always thought that if your MAF was knackered, that when you unplugged it the motor just runs as it has been. Due to it already compensating for the faulty MAF. Just shows what I know.

Its not a infalable test but should the engine continue to run ok when the maff is unplugged,then as said its likely its faulty and the ecu has compensated for that fact so does not recognise its been unplugged..... tried mine once and it cut out straight away so reckoned it was working ok.... have a power fc now so can monitor the voltage for change on the commander
If in doubt change it as the cost for a replacement is pennies compared to a rebuild.
